Since the summer of 2006, Gawad Kalinga has been mounting the annual Bayani Challenge, a call for volunteers to help rebuild. The first one was a response to the victims of the mudslides in Panaon Island in Southern Leyte. Every year since then, the Bayani Challenge has become the convergence point of volunteers as we help rebuild one community and one town at a time.
